Overview
TXstream Cross Border is Synthesis' regulatory reporting platform for cross-border transactions and central-bank compliance, helping financial institutions validate, process and report complex Balance of Payments data accurately and on time.
The platform brings together submission, staging, Smart Forms and regulatory rules capabilities across multiple African regulatory regimes. Our focus is to preserve this regulatory depth while modernising the platform, improving performance and usability, and giving clients greater control over configuration and operational change.
One Platform. Four Core Capabilities.
Regulatory Submission
Balance of Payments Reporting
Accurate, timely submission of cross-border regulatory data to supported central-bank and regional reporting regimes.
Staging & Processing
Staging Hub
Controlled ingestion, staging and processing of reporting data before validation and regulatory submission.
Smart Forms
Guided Data Capture
Rule-driven forms that simplify Balance of Payments capture and improve the quality of data collected from users and channels.
Rules Engine
Regulatory Validation
Configurable regulatory rules and validations that support regulator requirements while allowing governed client-specific behaviour.
Vision
To be the trusted, configurable and resilient platform for cross-border regulatory reporting, enabling financial institutions to respond rapidly and confidently to regulatory change.
Strategic Context
The forces reshaping cross-border regulatory reporting - and the TXstream Cross Border roadmap.
Regulatory change is increasing the need for adaptability.
Clients expect faster change, stronger control and better use of their regulatory data.
Regulatory Change
Requirements continue to evolve.
Ongoing regulator rule changes, regional reporting requirements and emerging SARB 1FinSurv changes require the platform to adapt without disrupting client reporting.
Scale & Reliability
Volumes are testing legacy assumptions.
Growing transaction volumes and reporting frequency increase the need for resilient processing, faster matching and submissions, and less operational intervention.
Client Control
Routine change should not require Synthesis.
Clients increasingly need governed self-service for configuration, rules and channels while core regulatory controls remain protected and fully traceable.
Technology Foundation
V4 creates the modernisation baseline.
Angular, retirement of the legacy service layer, modern rules capability and improved deployment practices create a foundation for faster, safer product evolution.
Data Opportunity
Validated regulatory data can do more.
High-quality cross-border and payment data can support analysis, downstream consumption and operational insight beyond the regulatory submission itself.
What this means for TXstream Cross Border
Stabilise and adopt V4, shift routine configuration toward governed client self-service, and evolve the platform for scale, regulatory change and greater value from validated data.
Competitor Landscape
A market landscape to validate.
Cross-border regulatory reporting can be addressed through specialist platforms, internal development and client-specific operating models. Named competitor positioning requires validation before inclusion in the signed-off roadmap.
Internal Development
Build alternative
Cross-border reporting and configuration built around existing internal systems and in-house engineering capability.
Existing internal systems · In-house engineering · Full internal control
Specialist RegTech Platforms
To validate
Named vendors in this category have not been validated for this roadmap. Input required before any competitor is presented.
Named vendors · Relative positioning · Where they win
Payment Platform Embedded Reporting
To validate
Reporting capability embedded within broader payment platforms. Scope and credibility as an alternative require validation.
Named platforms · Reporting depth · Regulatory coverage
Managed Services & Consulting
To validate
Advisory and managed operating models addressing reporting through people and process. Presence in this market requires validation.
Named providers · Delivery model · Where clients choose it
The competitive picture for Cross Border is not yet established.
Management and product input is required to validate direct competitors, adjacent competitors, build-it-yourself alternatives, managed and consulting alternatives, and relative TXstream positioning before this landscape can be signed off.
Strategic Themes
Protect
Protect - Regulatory Readiness
Maintain alignment with SARB and the supported regional regulators, covering rule and specification change, privacy requirements and traceable compliance. This is what keeps client reporting uninterrupted while requirements continue to move.
Modernise
Modernise - Platform Foundation
Complete and stabilise V4, with a modern UI and service architecture, stronger rules capability, deployment automation and sustainable infrastructure. The foundation that makes every later theme faster and safer to deliver.
Scale
Scale - Performance & Resilience
Improve throughput, matching, submission performance, reliability and supportability as client volumes grow. The measure of success is less operational intervention, not more capacity to intervene.
Enable
Enable - Client Self-Service
Use Workbench and modern administration to move approved routine configuration and channel change into governed client control, with approval, versioning and a full audit trail. Synthesis-governed CORE rule sets stay protected.
Unlock
Unlock - Trusted Regulatory Data
Treat validated cross-border data as a governed asset that can support analysis, downstream consumption and future value-added capability. The opportunity beyond the regulatory submission itself.
Next 6 Months
The next six months move TXstream Cross Border from platform modernisation into release, client adoption and the next phase of product capability.
